Anti-Human Trafficking and Modern Slavery Prohibition Policy

Elan International Pvt. Ltd., Pokhara Branch, upholds a strict zero-tolerance policy against human trafficking and modern-day slavery, both within the organization and throughout its supply chain. Elan International is committed to ethical and fair recruitment practices and will implement controls to prevent any form of human trafficking or slavery within its operations or supply chain. All suppliers will undergo thorough due diligence processes before approval.

Elan International strictly prohibits employees, overseas clients, and other stakeholders from engaging in activities related to human trafficking or slavery. This includes activities such as transportation, recruitment, harboring, transfer, or receipt of persons for labor, criminal activities, organ removal, or sexual exploitation through threat, force, coercion, abduction, or fraud. Elan International will adhere to the foreign employment policy and standards set by the Nepal Government, ensuring that workers supplied abroad are not victims of modern slavery or human trafficking.

Additionally, Elan International prohibits employees, overseas clients, and other stakeholders from engaging in practices related to trafficking in persons, including:
  • Destroying or withholding access to an employee's identity or immigration documents.
  • Using deceptive or fraudulent practices during recruitment, such as concealing essential terms and conditions of employment.
  • Engaging in commercial sex acts associated with Elan International, including during work hours, off-site functions, or official travels.
  • Employing forced labor for any purpose.
  • Charging recruitment fees to employee candidates.
  • Utilizing recruiters who do not comply with local labor laws.
  • Failing to provide return transportation for recruited employees brought to a country for work.
  • Offering inadequate housing that does not meet host country standards.
  • Neglecting to provide written proof of employment or similar work documents before the employee departs from their country of origin.

Our policies and procedures for preventing human trafficking and slavery will be communicated to all employees and suppliers to ensure a thorough understanding of the risks associated with modern slavery. These guidelines will also be integrated into the company's training programs and supporting materials. Elan International(Pokhara) will enforce appropriate disciplinary measures for any breaches of these regulations, which may include contract termination.
